Yadin

Take a historical journey back to the days of Herod, the King of Judea, who built Caesarea, a cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean, the future capital of Judea for over 600 years, and the largest port on the Mediterranean after the port of Rome. It was a major port for Rome's grain supply, for the export of spices from Arabia, wine and olive oil from Judea, and glass - produced by the newly invented technique of glass blowing. Herod was one of the most famous rulers in the Roman Empire.  He married ten wives, had 39 children, and, as we learn in the podcast, he killed a few – both wives and children. Join Eretz Magazine founder and publisher Yadin Roman for a full accounting of the foundation and development of Caesarea and Herod’s long-lasting imprint on the Roman World.
